Young People in Gorebridge
March 27, 2008
HELPP is pleased to annouce a new eight week course for young people, aged 11 to 17, in Gorebridge. The course, in partnership with GO and the Gorebridge Community Development Trust, will provide young people who attend the GO group to access information on physical and mental health and healthy eating.
The course will run from 7pm to 9pm every Tuesday, starting on the 8th of April. The Gorebridge Community Development Trust will host the course at 58 Main Street.
The eight week course - devised with input from Steve Munroe of the GO Project, Laura Adamson from HELPP and the young people themselves - will include contributions from HELPP staff, Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service (MYPAS) and CHIRP.
As well as being shown simple excercise techniques and easy tips for healthy eating the young people will be asked what kind of healthy food they would like to learn about and what skills they would like to learn for themselves.
